Results of The Last Meetup: Collaboration & Learning

Hi All,
One of the things that was brought up at our last meetup was the
fact we should collaborate on software and learn from each other. I'm
going to donate my company's server space, project management software
and a subversion repository to making this happen. So, do you want to
build a Rails project together as a group and learn from each other in
the process? I think it sounds like a great idea. All I need is you to
email me directly with a chosen username and password. Email me at
[address removed]. I'll setup your access and we can get started.
Also, on the meetup site I have put up a poll for people to vote on what
type of software they would like to build. Please go vote on what
software you would like to work on. If you don't feel like programming
you can also just get login access from me and you can watch the
development project take place. I would also like some help with the
management aspect of this project. If anyone feels adept enough to help
me please email me and let me know what experience you have had in
regard to that.
I don't want anyone to feel left out. So, people of all skill levels
are welcome to participate or watch. If this development results in a
software package that can be sold, or can be open sourced and given back
to the community we will post a poll asking the members of this group
what we should do with the software. So, consider this a group open
source project where all can collaborate and learn from one another.
Then at the the meetings we can discuss what we have learned and enjoy
each other's company.
Also, it has been suggested some would like to see very brief
demonstrations or have someone talk on certain subject at meetings. We
can do this as well. If you would like to do a brief presentation or
speak on a particular subject let me know before the meetup and I'll
attempt to coordinate it. If you have any other ideas that would make
this group better or make you feel more at home please email me or email
the group and let us know.
So, email me those usernames and passwords you would like me to
setup. Please include your first name and last name as well and the
email address you would like notifications to go to.
