What we’re about

The purpose of Navigating the Liminal is to encourage Risk Reduction/Harm Reduction through ethical discussions and case consultations amongst those who hold space for non-ordinary states of consciousness.

This group is designed to bring together and support those that are leading the way through this current sacred global initiation with love and radical uncertainty. If you hold space for others and want to share and nourish with other practitioners who can understand the unique challenges and rewards of this calling, you are welcome here.

The inspiration for this group was the book "The Ethics of Caring" by Kylea Taylor, in which she outlines the most common ethical violations in this work, and suggests peer to peer support as one of the solutions.

Navigating the Liminal provides a platform for professional networking and social connections within the psychedelic facilitator community. Our group discussions will be open and inclusive while also maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Whether you are a seasoned psychonaut or new to facilitation, this meetup offers a space for open dialogue. Come join us in this exploration of the ethics of psychedelic culture and risk reduction in the psychedelic facilitation space.

Remember to bring an open heart and mind as we Navigate the Liminal together.

All Navigating the Liminal events are free to attend, although donations are appreciated.

From one of my favorite Alchemists, Dr. Mia Hetenyi:
"The liminal.
The space between thresholds.
What was, is no longer.
What will emerge is not clear.
You are shedding skins.
The liminal is a sacred time of letting go and birthing of ourselves anew.
Many mystical and shamanic traditions teach us that the in-between is the most important time for taking refuge in practices that will liberate us from unnecessary suffering.
This is where the psyche heals itself and the quality of our consciousness evolves.

The liminal is the center of the pulse of creation.
Everything is created in the liminal.
Everything that is created also dissolves back into the liminal.
It is the heartbeat of life itself.
When we find ourselves in the liminal, whether through loss, transitions, individuation or amidst healing codependent patterns, we land in the unknown where we simply do not know, and cannot know, what is next.
It's okay not to know, we aren't supposed to.
Yet, this can be a place of utter clarity and creative potential.

In every great myth of rebirth, there is a sacrifice before the resurrection, before the true love...before the light returns.
This takes courage of heart, a mastery of faith in the benevolence of the mystery to journey through the liminal.
This groundless ground of the in-between magnifies which dream we are feeding.
The dreaming self of fear that casts what has not yet been shed or grieved into the unknown, creating endless loop of repetition, pain and disappointment that can only validate the illusion of this fearful self.
Or, the dreaming of the essential Self that knows that regardless of what has transpired, there is something deep within our core that cannot and has not ever been destroyed.
Love. Goodness. Genius. Magic. Light.
To know this love is to trust casting the net of the heart into the unknown.
And, to love anyway.

As the ancients have taught, the way we approach the magic of the liminal can feed these painful cycles or liberate us into the depths of love's dreaming for us.
There must be a balance between the grieving and healing that pulls us in, and the creative ground of the rooting into the fertile soil of the essential self.
Even as we navigate grief and shadows, we can also create, nourish and renew ourselves, generate a deeper connection to spiritual and ancestral support and use this energy to create something that brings thriving and beauty our lives."
