Hi All,

Not sure if there is a cost, but one of the larger public libraries (i.e. Harold Washington library) might be able to serve as the site for the proposed event. I'll try to think of other ideas to share. In interim, like Loretta, I represent a nonprofit organization that could use assistance. If someone is looking to start volunteering with a great nonprofit right away, feel free to contact me. Looking forward to the event coming to fruition!

Best,

am really happy to be reading this!!! ?I am involved in a start-up entity of an existing non-profit and we need some volunteer help in setting up our website. ?We have been discussing our needs compared to our holding page that we currently have and really need a web person to help us understand what's possible and how we can make it happen.

If you send someone my way, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey Everyone,

Hope you enjoyed the sunshine today.

As many of you know I am working on a tech/nonprofit conference in partnership with NetSquared. Many in the tech community are eager to volunteer with a community benefit/nonprofit organization. However they are not sure how to find an organization that needs a volunteer. Additionally, many organizations are pretty desperate for some tech support. The challenge is to connect these two communities.

While attending the delightful SocDevCamp last fall, the wheels began turning and I decided it would be terrific to have a conference that would align these 2 populations in order to create a little social good! So now, I am working feverishly to find a location for the conference. We are hoping to make it happen in the next few months.

Is anyone willing to look into some possible locations for the conference? We are guessing we will have at least 150 participants. We would need a large room for a key note and at least 6-8 break out rooms for sessions. We would run the event from 8:00 AM until around 5:00 PM. We are hoping that the space will have wifi and the ability to do some other tech type things as well. We also are hoping the space will be pro bono. (Greedy, I know!)

Let me know if you are able to help out with this. It will be a great event...if we can just figure out where to hold it!

Thanks for your help everyone!
