NetSquared Meetup: Extreme Makeover Give Back Friday

NetSquared DC returns to its popular Extreme Makeover format in June, featuring GiveBackFriday. At our Extreme Makeovers, we help an organization solve a pressing web site or online strategy problem, with an audience full of web strategists, nonprofit tech gurus, and people who want to see good people and good causes reach more people.

The Give Back Friday project is an online movement, whose vision is to turn the largest consumer spending day of the year (Black Friday) into the largest philanthropic giving day of the year, as part of an online movement that empowers everyone to make a difference and revolutionizes social consumerism. While many online fundraising platforms currently exist, Give Back Friday will be the first platform to focus all of its efforts around a single marketing campaign, focused around one day. We have the summary business plan and website specs prepared, and we'd love your ideas and input to develop initial website design and strategy to begin marketing the 2011 campaign this summer.

Presenting for Give Back Friday will be Andrew Horn, the 25-year-old Executive Director & Founder of Dreams for Kids DC, who founded DFK DC in 2009 and hasn't looked back since. In 2010 he founded Give Back Friday as a successful marketing campaign executed by DFK DC, and in 2011 he founded his third venture abilitylist.com (http://abilitylist.com/), which is essentially craigslist for the disabled community.
