NetSquared Meetup: Where Are They Now?

  • Jul 19, 2011 · 7:00 PM
  • Affinity Lab U Street

For this month's NetSquaredDC program, we ask " Where Are They Now?"  This program features past Extreme Makeover presenters Aisha O'Brien (Progressive Majority) and Kristen Milhollin and Marilyn Langfeld (GoodSpeaks).

For our Extreme Makeover programs, our presenters come to you and ask for your honest feedback and great ideas to help solve their website, social media, or other technology dilemma. But have you ever wondered what ultimately happens with everything that's generated at the NetSquared event?  What happens when everyone goes home? Do all your comments and feedback make a difference?  Our presenters, who presented in the last several months, will be here to talk about what happens next: how their organizations incorporated all your suggestions and proceeded with their website makeover process.

Aisha, Kristen and Marilyn will talk about what they learned from presenting at NetSquared that ended up being incorporated into the final product; the things that happened during the process that neither they nor the Net2DC crowd anticipated; what ideas they tried to incorporate from Net2DC that didn't work; and any other general thoughts about the completion of the process that will be helpful to our audience. For those of you who have presided over your own website makeovers, come prepared to ask the tough questions and compare your own experiences. And if you have a redesign project looming, see how presenting at one of our Extreme Makeover sessions can benefit your organization.

NetSquared DC is a vibrant local community thriving at the intersection of social change and technology. We’re part of a global NetSquared movement that focuses on the exponential impact we can have when we combine our hunger for change with powerful new technologies.

We’re proud to be one of the largest and longest-running NetSquared groups around, and thank our amazing members who come out in force each month to share what they’ve learned and get to know each other better.

You can make sure you’re the first to hear about upcoming events by joining our Meetup. We usually meet at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month at the Affinity Lab on U Street NW, DC’s greatest entrepreneurial launch space.

A full archive of our past events is available here on our Meetup page at

Once again, I am indebted to NetSquared for providing me with such a brilliant forum for feedback and ideas. Thank you to all who attended- look forward to keeping you updated about SpaceforGood and the GoodSpeaks Project, and hearing more about your endeavors.

Phenomenal! It was great to see so many talented professionals with different perspectives on web-development brainstorm together to produce amazing ideas for a single website.
