Hi NetSquared Montreal meetup members,

This is a reminder that we are meeting tonight at Station-C to debrief with the Twestival Local - Montreal organizers, and to discuss how social media can be used to drive participation in offline fundraisers.

*Beer and chips provided*

ABOUT NET2MTL: NetSquared Montr?al is the local group of the global community. We meet each month in the offices of Station-C for an evening of discussions, presentations, and action at the intersection of technology and social change.

** Join our Facebook group to recieve updates about other events**

Station C - 5369 Boulevard St-Laurent #430 (mile end) - map link
note: The door can be tricky. Read the sign and use the intercom and say you're there for NetSquared.

Join Massimo Farina of Filter Box Media for a debrief of the 2009 Twestival Local in Montreal. We'll be discussing the successes and challenges of organizing an offline fundraiser / event via Twitter.

Also, September 22 is OneWebDay, so we'll be celebrating the web as an open and inclusive tool that works for everyone.

NetSquared Montreal is sponsored by our wonderful venue Station C. Station C is the first and most stylish coworking space in Montreal. If you work at home and need somewhere more professional to get stuff done it's an affordable and easy solution. They love social change, and we love them.

This edition of the Montreal NetSquared Meetup is also part of a global festival called Atoms & Bits taking place in several cities in Europe as well as Montreal. Other Montreal events include a WordPress meetup (about the popular blogging platform) and the probably-complete PodCamp montreal that happened this weekend.
From their website: "atoms&bits are the smallest elements in our modern society. This is what the atoms&bits Festival is all about: how we change society bit by bit, atom by atom ? organized through the Internet with real world results. a&b is a meet up for visionaries, tinkerers, activists, geeks, and artists ? in short, everyone that celebrates a new culture of collective endeavor and do-it-yourself."
