May Net2NO Meetup: Have an idea or project? Kickstart it!

Kickstarter is a platform to crowdsource funding for your creative projects. We've got a ton of examples of successful Kickstarter projects from members of the Net2NO community, and there's a very good chance there are a million more potentially successful projects just waiting to be posted.

We're still working on a speaker lineup for this meetup, so if you or someone you know has experience using Kickstarter, please drop us a line! Likewise, if you've been thinking about launching a project on Kickstarter, or have just decided you might want to do one, now that you've heard of Kickstarter, let us know!

This meetup will be part showcase (of successful and/or unsuccessful projects), part presentation/discussion (about Kickstarter best practices), and part hands-on workshop (let's launch a project!)

Details to follow! In the meantime, if you have questions or suggestions for the May Net2NO Kickstarter meetup, let us know. We love to hear from you!

Great energy and enthusiasm from the very beginning. Although this was my first Meetup, it seems like a tight group who are willing to contribute their specialties toward moving NOLA forward. I fully expected to sit on the sidelines and watch, but was quickly drawn in and made to feel very comfortable.

For the first time, this meeting felt like the old meetings at The Bridge Lounge

I had a successful Kickstarter project here: http://www.kickstarter.com/proj...

It is a great way to generate buzz about an artistic project before it is even created. I was surprised when Kickstarter took about 8% of the funds when it was my understanding that they would take 5%.

Kody Chamberlain (graphic artist out of Lafayette) did a really successful kickstarter a while back to launch his new comic book...he'd have some great insight for this

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
