#cfaNOLA 2012 Code for America and City of New Orleans
Information Technology & Innovation

The team of CfA Fellows are here! They have come in town to meet with neighborhood stakeholders and work with City of New Orleans Information Technology & Innovation (ITI) to support and further legitimize the role of neighborhood stakeholders in community revitalization. Also get an update on what ITI has done since last year, what ITI plans on doing along with CfA and IBM, and how you can get involved (hiring 4 positions in 2012).

Timely topic, and lots of good news. Interesting topics attract bigger crowds. And it finished on time. Parking continues to be tricky.

Would've been cool to see a more in-depth presentation from the city tech people. Perhaps more tech-minded rather than geared towards overall management. The Code for America people presentation was short but I guess they didn't have anything to present about yet. Overall it was informative and it's great to see the city tech group showing up at net2no meetups.

It was great to hear how the city has evolved since last we saw them. This was not just lip service. They shared their goals with us last year and told us how they would achieve them. They came in last night and demonstrated which goals they have achieved and openly admitted to areas they still have much work to accomplish. Kudos to Allen and Company for their transparency and commitment to innovation. This is EXACTLY what Net2NO strives for and it is wonderful to see it in action!
