Apocalypse World: Tension in Novak

Nobody remembers how or why. Maybe nobody ever knew. The oldest living survivors have childhood memories of it: cities burning, society in chaos then collapse, families set to panicked flight, the weird nights when the smouldering sky made midnight into a blood-coloured half-day.
Now the world is not what it was. Look around you: evidently, certainly, not what it was. But also close your eyes, open your brain: something is wrong. At the limits of perception, something howling, ever present, full of hate and terror. From this, the world’s psychic maelstrom, none of us have shelter.
So far you've been scraping by within the holding Novak. The last few weeks the supplies are running low, and the people are starting to talk about a change in leadership. Will Novak withstand the increase of hostility within and outside its borders? Play to find out.

Pathfinder Society Module: We Be Goblins

The Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh have stumbled upon a great treasure—fireworks! Yet unfortunately for them, the tribe member responsible for the discovery has already been exiled for the abhorrent crime of writing (which every goblin knows steals words from your head). To remedy this situation, the Licktoads’ leader, His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad, has declared that the greatest heroes of the tribe must venture forth to retrieve the rest of the fireworks from a derelict ship stranded in the marsh. In order to prove themselves as the Licktoads’ bravest goblins, the PCs must complete a series of dangerous dares, from swallowing bull slugs and braving the dreaded Earbiter to dancing with Squealy Nord himself. Yet even once they’ve proven their mettle, the adventure is just beginning. For the ship in question is far from uninhabited, and Vorka the cannibal goblin would like nothing better than a few tasty visitors....

The Apocalypse game, run a bit longer, but was well worth the time.
Though my explantion of the rules could have been better, most of the things worked out better than i would have thought.

Ran an improvised Mutants & Masterminds game, brought to life by the great roleplay / acting of the players.

    • Daryl K.

Hi guys. Thank you for the game! It was fun to be a goblin for a day.

    July 5, 2014

    • Aleksander M.

      Same here, great game/

      July 5, 2014

    • Yanick G.

Yeah who would have guessed goblins could kick ass like that?

      July 5, 2014

  • Michal C.

Here's a thought: perhaps someone could bring a GM-less game or two (like Fiasco, Microscope or Durance) for those without a game?

    July 5, 2014

    • Wouter

I thought there are usually rescue GM's

      July 5, 2014

    • Michal C.

Probably, though this is my first time.

      July 5, 2014

  • Liane G.

Hey guys, I feel quite ill today so I won't be able to make it to run my game. Sorry!

    July 5, 2014

  • WildSurge

I'm coming, but I might run a few minutes late.

    July 5, 2014

  • Pieter S.

Well, the meetup is two days from now and I see there are insufficient players for the game I've signed up for. So I guess I should start making other plans for saturday. See you all next time!

    July 3, 2014

    • Ben

There are still several people who haven't chosen a game, so I'm sure that Pathfinder will be run, don't worry.

      July 3, 2014

    • Pieter S.

Ok, I'll take your word for it :) See you saturday then.

      July 3, 2014

  • DocMax

I am sorry, but I cant make it anymore for this week-end.

The We Be Goblin game is full, is it allright for those that haven't gotten a spot but RSVPed for it to be moved to the other pathfinder game?

    June 30, 2014

  • Jan

Any GM's out there who feel like running a modern or sci-fi game? We have 3 fantasy games now and diversity is key!

    June 21, 2014

    • Jeroen

Would I be right to assume you've played Apocalypse before?
Would be my first time. But I'm really looking forward running it.

      June 23, 2014

    • Michal C.

I've never played it, but I know the way it (and Dungeon World, Monster of the Week etc.) "works", and the type of game you get out of it. My rule of thumb is a result of 10+ is "Yes, AND...", and 7-9 is "Yes, BUT...".

      June 23, 2014

  • Jan

Make sure to update your RSVP if you see any game you like :)

    June 23, 2014

  • Auke T.

Hi, I'm planning on running a Pathfinder Society game. I just need to know who wants in so I can determine the scenario (so a intro scenario for new players or a high level one for veterans)

    June 17, 2014

    • Auke T.

Ok, I spoke with Vince and we decided he'll run a 3-7 scenario for people that have Pathfinder Society characters already and that I will run We Be Goblins for people that want to try out the system.

      June 20, 2014

    • Pieter S.

Cool. In that case I'd like to join the 3-7 scenario.

      June 20, 2014

  • Jan

Hey everyone! I`ll be the event host for July, so any questions, remarks and bribes can go my way. If you want to run a game contact Laurie :)

The Klaveren isn't open on Sundays for most of the summer (we grabbed the one exception for August). We could ask them to open just for us, but we would have to be able to guarantee a certain number of attendees and resulting revenue. As our numbers tend to drop in the summer too, it's hard for us to commit to that.

      1 · June 20, 2014

    • Yanick G.

And it gives a chance to people like me who aren't free on Sunday to play :p

Why Saturday? Have to skip as well…

    June 20, 2014

    Saturday? :(

Games that we offer are based on wonderful volunteers who are willing to GM. If you are coming and want to run a game. Just message me. Your ever enthusiastic July GM Wrangler

I am sincerely sorry, my dear players. I have to cancel the Paranoia XP game. It will be moved to the month after (very likely).

    June 17, 2014

    • Laurie

No worries. See in August! :)

      June 17, 2014

    • Pieter S.

I'm sorry citizen, this game is above your security clearance.

Hello. Do you have any idea as to when the July Meet Up may be? As I think I can only do Saturday 12th — which may have been the original date, if I'm not mistaken. Cheers!

    June 11, 2014

    • Ben

Working on it, but the 12th might have been double-booked.

      June 11, 2014

    • Michal C.

Ah, righty. Thanks for the info. :)
