RubyConf was a blast; it was great to meet other Rubyists as well as see others from New Haven. Miss it? Here are some things to look at:
A special message (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8PPKWpLmkw) from Aaron Patterson (@tenderlove (http://twitter.com/tenderlove)) to our own Jonathan Magen (@yonkeltron (http://twitter.com/yonkeltron)) My public GitHub wiki of notes (https://github.com/benjaminoakes/rubyconf2011/wiki). I recommend the NaCl one. ...and when they get posted, the Confreaks videos (http://confreaks.net/events/rubyconf2011) As Rubyists, we have an awesome community, both internationally and locally... so let's get together! There's been a lot of people interested in presenting and getting together on a weekend, so I'm thinking we can combine the two.
The plan:
Sunday (for people who can't attend during the week, as well as our Jewish friends) Hacking and Q&A Bring an idea or something you're working on. Budding Rubyist? Bring questions. We love to help you. Don't worry about dumb questions or whether you know Ruby well enough. You're new, so come say "hi"! Lightning talks Anyone is welcome to give a presentation, the more the merrier! Don't be afraid that you're not an expert. (This includes newbies.) All topics are welcome. Tell your Ruby community anything you think we'd be interested in. No, really: Is exercising making you a better person/coder? That's great! Tell us about it! 5-10 minute time limit (depending on how many people are interested) It can be shorter than that if you want. Not familiar with the format? Check out this one: Why and How to Give an Ignite Talk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRa1IPkBFbg)
If you'd like to present, please make sure we have your topic. We need an accurate idea of how many people are interested in presenting.
Also, please RSVP either way. We hope to see you there!
