In this talk we'll take a closer look at some common misconceptions about JavaScript inheritance, common object creation patterns and peek at a few things that will make you say "Wat (https://www.destroyallsoftware.com/talks/wat)?" -- all in an effort to better understand this fundamental concept of JavaScript programming.

Presenter: Keith Pepin, Senior Software Engineer at Meltwater

Bio: Keith Pepin has been developing sites and applications on the web for over 17 years. Early in his career, he fell in love with JavaScript, and has been passionately building dynamic user experiences ever since. He is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Meltwater (http://www.meltwater.com/), and is using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AngularJS, Node.js and MongoDB to build the next generation of their online marketing intelligence platform. He recently served as Technical Editor for Reliable JavaScript: How to Code Safely in the World's Most Dangerous Language (http://www.amazon.com/Reliable-JavaScript-Safely-Dangerous-Language/dp/1119028728/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442519151&sr=8-1&keywords=Reliable+JavaScript), and when not coding or spending time with his family, enjoys other geeky pursuits including all forms of games, comic books, painting and sketching.
