Love to go to see indie and foreign films and then talk about them afterward? Me, too!
I lived in Manhattan for 25 years and thought nothing of calling a friend and suggesting we meet in an hour at one of the many arthouse theaters around town. We'd catch a flick and then go out to a neighborhood restaurant and talk about it ad nauseum.
But, when I moved to NJ I found my friends here do NOT share my tastes so I created the NJ Arthouse Film Society (just to sound fancy). It's really taken off and now I have tons of cool people to keep me company.
Most of the films we see are at the Montclair Clairidge Cinema and afterward we pick a local joint to go grab a bite and discuss the film we saw at length. Everyone gives their opinion and it's a lot of fun as well as eye-opening.

So why not join up with other like-minded Jersey souls who are too lazy to schlep into Manhattan? I keep it pretty casual and we're just regular folks who are friendly and fun - no particular "in" group or anything.
For any of you who are especially interested in indie & foreign films made BY women - join my meetup "Cinema-Femina" - I'll be suggesting upcoming films by women to meet at as well as lead the Cinema-Femina film series in the coming months. Click: http://www.meetup.com/cinema-femina/

Hi! For those of you who don't know my sordid past - for much of my adult life I've been lucky to be a working TV & film actor, director and writer . I lived in Manhattan for 25 years and moved back to NJ in 2001 for some much needed R & R. I vegged for a few years and then tried my hand at a variety of art forms, went back to school, got a degree and saw a lot of movies! Read more
