Meetups & More Meetups!

Hey everyone, Happy Independence Day!
This group - and most active Meetup groups - have been growing nicely, and it's a great opportunity to connect and learn.  However, most folks signed up for most of the groups I'm aware of don't attend too many actual meetups. If you haven't been, I encourage you to check out ours or some of the other good groups in the area.
But if there are other events that might benefit from cross-listing here, please suggest them, and/or if you'd like to get more involved in creating events and building our community, please let me know.
Before I mention the events the Tech Council and I are involved with, a few other groups and notes:
Coworking in Albuquerque (Convivium) http://www.meetup.com...
Coworking and coworking spaces have become valuable drivers in building local tech communities. Convivium hosts several events and activities worth checking out, including OpenHack ABQ.
(Friday) at Ideas & Coffee (Ideas & Coffee) http://www.meetup.com/Friday-at-Ideas-and-Coffee/
Also a leader in the local coworking scene, Ideas & Coffee hosts multiple groups as well, including sessions on Wordpress and iOS Development.
Albuquerque WordPress Meetup http://www.meetup.com/albuquerque-wordpress/
Another big favorite is the local WordPress Meetup group, perhaps the biggest in our local web design and development arena. They have multiple opportunities for participants to learn and engage.
Santa Fe Software Developers http://www.meetup.com/sf-dev/
Another group I help run with a focus on Santa Fe and north central New Mexico is the Santa Fe Software Developers. We meet monthly and, depending on venue, give short talks on projects, tools, conferences and other development. Join us for a special innovation/startup session at the Santa Fe Business Incubator on July 24th!
Other Stuff:
Want to discuss, launch and promote other activities of interest to the wider tech community? Try our discussion board: http://www.meetup.com/nmtechscene/messages/boards/forum/2666362
The NM Tech Council also tries to capture and promote events from our partners w/ regular emails. Sign up at: http://eepurl.com/fXxw5
What else is coming up? We hope to see you at our Web Geeks Happy Hour on the 17th at Season's Grill: http://www.meetup.com/nmtechscene/events/123862782/
But the BIG NEWS is ABQ Tech Fiesta, coming this September 7th-15th at spots throughout Albuquerque. Several of the groups you'd expect are involved in building a week-long celebration of the people, companies and organizations that make up the Albuquerque area's tech/startup community. We'll all be posting more information about the events we're involved with and the week as a whole, but you might also like us at https://www.facebook.com/AbqTechFiesta for updates.
It's been a great year for our community - and we're looking forward to more. Best wishes to you, your colleagues and families!
