NodeDC November meetup

It’s time again to find out about the Nodawesomeness (tm :) that has been going on in the metro DC area! We have four cool speakers lined up (but are always interested in more - see below).

  • Social Tables will share how they are using Rails and Node.js together to power one of DC’s newest startup success stories.
  • Ryan Roemer (@ryan_roemer) will be giving us the down low on how SpanishDict is using RequireJS/AMD to leverage JavaScript consistently across the server/client boundry.
  • Andrew Brampton (@TheBramp, blog) will talk about bringing Node.js into the real world through a Node.js extension for the Wii Remote.
  • Valentina Alekhina (@Valentina9) will share some of team sn00zy’s plans to triumph at Node Knockout using Node.js and PhoneGap.

And… What have you been up to and do you care to share? Let us know on the meetup page or at @NodeDC! We are looking for both short (5-10 minutes) and longer (15-30 minutes) presentations.

PS, For updates on future events join the Meetup, watch us on GitHub, and/or follow us at @NodeDC.

Hi All, Links from the presenters for the November meetup are now available at http://nodedc.github.com/. Sorry they were not there sooner, I forgot to push :).

We are also starting to plan the January one. We are still working on a date, but in the meantime we are looking for topics. Offer you ideas on the event page at http://www.meetup.com/node-dc/events/98796672/.

Thanks everyone for another great NodeDC meetup! Once I get the links from the presenters I will post them on github and put a link here.

And its time to start thinking about our next one! I've created a discussion thread for folks to post their ideas for topics. Bonus points if you can present them :) - http://www.meetup.com/node-dc/messages/boards/thread/28756532.

If you have general feedback you can use the "Contact" link on the left. That goes to all the organizers. Or feel free to message me directly if you like.

Looking forward to the meetup. I'd be happy to talk about my experience writing a wiimote node extension http://bramp.net/blog/2011/10/my-experiences-with-developing-multi-threaded-nodejs-extensions/
