This meetup group was created so that supporters of permaculture and other methods of sustainable, organic farming could come together, exchange thoughts, and apply these principles to their lives and city. Permaculture is a fast-growing form of agriculture AND way of life. Its principles are deeply rooted in various scientific fields such as "Deep Ecology" and "The Gaia Hypothesis," among others. The processes of the Earth herself are the models for all of its applications. Instead of carving out a place for yourself in the ecosystem in which you reside, you are taught to find your place, minimize your consumption, and (like all other organisms of the Earth), contribute something back into the system. Quite literally, permaculture is the most intelligent way to eliminate waste, carbon footprints, and resource depletion.

This group will have workshops, discussions, debates, field work, field trips, and the occasional social mixer. All environmentalists, urban farmers, and like-minded people are welcome.

It was chilly and drizzling outside, so we toured the garden, then moved inside for great food and conversation.
