Nordic walking helps you lose weight. Nordic Walking results in higher (approximately 20 -50% more) energy expenditure and results in more calories being burnt than when walking at the same speed.
How to get started
We teach the Nordic Walking at various locations. To see if Nordic Walking is for you why not come along to one of the free taster sessions before you commit to the full course. Once you have learnt the technique you can then join the regular Nordic Walking sessions.
Free taster sessions
The free taster session last for 45 minutes and enable you to get a feel for what Nordic Walking can do for you. The next free taster classes are on the following days and times.

Nordic Walking Tuition
If you enjoy the taster session it is essential that you learn the full and correct Nordic Walking technique by attending the Nordic Walk tuiton course. The course is structured teaching programme of two hour and a half sessions. This will help you to master the basics that will enable you to competently Nordic Walk and to attend any organised walks with us at Nordic Walking Beds and Bucks.
This will enable you to gain maximum benefits regardless of your fitness levels.
The cost for the course is £40 including pole hire.
There is absolutely no obligation to attend a course if you decide Nordic walking is not for you after the free session.

Nordic walking Instructors
Paul Collins MSc mcsp (Nordic Walking Instructor)
Paul is a Chartered physiotherapist with a background in sport and Exercise science.
Having been working as a chartered physiotherapist and Nordic Walking Instructor in elite and recreational sports for the past 5 years his experience enables him to teach a variety of sessions in Nordic walking accommodating for a variety of fitness levels and abilities.
Paul has the ability to adapt exercise training to achieve agreed, individually tailored exercise goals
1 to 1 tuition/rehabilitation is available and costs £30 per hour
Dennis Simpson (Nordic Walking Instructor)
Hi I am Dennis. I have been Nordic Walking since I was trained by Paul some 6 years ago. Now a long distance walker also. I have recently become qualified as a nordic walking instructor.
At present I am offering led nordic walks in the Mid and South Beds area. Come the new year will start offering Nordic Walking lessons as well. The walks are suitable for all ages, fitness levels and abilities. Surprise yourself - get out there!!
