Re: CityGirl's question "Hi Kim,
> Is this strictly a couples club?"
I am posting this reply to the whole meet-up, as it is a question that has come up several times. Initially when I first registered (and paid for) the meet-up, I had to choose a name, and several heading categories. To form a meet-up, a person chooses the categories/interests that you hope will attract your potential group members. As my husband and I are second time marrieds, and newly empty nested, we have found ourselves 'slim' in the joint friends category so I chose couples as the main category, then empty nesters, and one more category I can't remember as I write this e-mail. You see, we are hoping to meet new friends of both genders for Paul and I to socialize with. I'm rather sorry I did this now, because it does make non-couples feel excluded and that really wasn't the intent, the intent was to get some couples out to join the singles, who seem to be the ones going out and having fun! And thus, the North Shore Social Club was born one night as I sat at my computer, and well ... the rest is the future!
One of these days when I have time I will contact Meet-Up administration and ask if we can change that initial category but it could be tricky because they use it to form the club's e-mail address. Suffice it to say that Paul and I have fun wherever we go and love meeting new people so come on along, guys, gals, singles, couples, young and old, it matters not.
