Details

We are meeting on the SECOND Wednesday (September 11th, 2013) of the month, due to Labor Day. Be sure to RSVP, the building now requires everyone be RSVP'd before the event.

This month Scott Perry (https://twitter.com/numist) from Square (https://squareup.com) will be presenting his talk "Hacks That Let You Sleep Easily". This talk will cover some clever tricks that if—but really when—they fail will still keep debugging as easy as writing the code in the first place, with the goal of defeating Kernighan's Law. ( http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Brian_Kernighan )

Scott (https://twitter.com/numist) is [mostly] a frameworks and systems engineer, currently at Square (https://squareup.com). Formerly from Apple and VMware—and also a former carpenter, mechanic, and chef—Scott enjoys opportunities to apply lessons from different fields to each other, so long as they improve the experience for everyone.

Thanks so much to this month's sponsor, SurDoc (http://surdoc.com/). SurDoc (http://surdoc.com/) is an ultra-secure cloud storage company. With 100+ patents filed globally, SurDoc(tm) is leading the next generation of cloud storage technologies. SurDoc protects users' data from end to end, prevents anyone from gaining content on the server, even if it is a government inquiry. SurDoc is backed by VC funding and has spent more than $3M to build the next generation of cloud infrastructure.

Every month, we meet for some tech talks and free beer. iOS developers can present their newest project/library and then we'll have an hour of networking and drinks. Topics will stay specific to Objective-C and iOS. Open-source projects are highly encouraged, please reach out to Steve Derico (http://www.twitter.com/stevederico) if you are interested in speaking.

Please do your best to arrive before 8pm, we will start the talk at 8:05pm. The door will lock at 8pm because of building rules. We cannot hold the door open for everyone once the talk has started.
