October 2013 NY Enterprise Technology Meetup

Details
Join fellow technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors for the NY Enterprise Technology Meetup's (NYETM) October meetup on Wednesday 10/16/13 from 6:45pm-9:00pm!
For our October meetup we have two company demos and 2 special presentations:
• NopSec (http://www.nopsec.com) - NopSec helps enterprises transform security data overload into holistic vulnerability management for applications and infrastructure on premise or in the cloud. The company's product, Unified VRM, takes a holistic approach to finding, filtering, and fixing exploitable vulnerabilities. NopSec's customers dramatically reduce the turnaround time between identification of critical vulnerabilities and remediation. Streamlined reporting allows senior management to see progress being made against vulnerability risks on an ongoing basis. And customers can help avoid potential financial losses and damage to their public reputation associated with a security breach.
• BetterCloud (http://www.bettercloud.com) - BetterCloud is the leading provider of cloud management tools for Google Apps. Its flagship product FlashPanel is a directory management and Google Drive security tool that ultimately accelerates the adoption of Google Apps in the enterprise. FlashPanel is used by over 22,000 companies and more than 14 million users worldwide. BetterCloud is headquartered in New York City with engineering offices in Atlanta, GA. A privately held company, BetterCloud is backed by venture capital firms Flybridge Capital Partners, Greycroft Partners and TriBeCa Venture Partners.
• Guest speaker: Simon Tan, Product Manager at Box, on "Building an ecosystem of enterprise-grade mobile apps" - Business today is mobile - if you're building enterprise solutions and not thinking mobile from day one, you're going to miss out on at least 50% of knowledge workers looking to access their critical business data on the go. But how do you get your app in front of the eyes of IT admins who make the decisions about what apps and services to allow, and which to block? How do you differentiate yourself from the masses? Join Box product manager Simon Tan as he discusses the major concerns from IT admins when it comes to mobile, how Box addressed them and how OneCloud (a trusted ecosystem of mobile apps for business) was conceived and built to give IT peace of mind as well as a path towards true mobile productivity for today's road warrior.
• Guest speaker: Susan Lyon, co-chair of Cooley's Privacy Practice, on "How startups can avoid privacy hangovers" - Susan will address easy ways emerging companies can avoid “privacy hangovers” policies that VCs and acquirers are looking for in their privacy due diligence, and how to develop privacy and security programs in the most cost-effective manner, and with publicly-available resources. Susan specializes in US and international privacy and data security issues, representing companies of all sizes from startups to major Internet, tech, advertising and telecommunications companies. She was formally in-house privacy counsel with Microsoft.
