I'm one of the founders and organizers of the NY Scala Meetup, and the CTO of a small technology company focused on finance, called Pellucid Analytics, and we're hiring! We have several Senior Scala Full Stack Development positions open. We're looking for people who not only know Scala (or want to learn Scala), but are adept through the full stack. We only hire people who we feel are at our own intellectual caliber, and to give you and idea of where that is, we've got a PhD from Oxford with deep roots in category theory; we've got contributors to playframework (https://github.com/playframework/play
); contributors to a MongoDB driver for Scala (http://reactivemongo.org/
); we're developing our own open source library for Datomic (http://pellucidanalytics.github.com/datomisca/
As for the product and company, banking in general is marred by horrid UX and UI -- I think everyone can agree on that. We're building an application to solve that, and make a major impact on the way investment bankers work. The environment here has a startup feel, but we're well funded so pay and job security aren't issues. We offer four weeks vacation, brand new macbook pros, and 30 inch monitors. We do hack days and make strong efforts to include interesting technologies into our daily work.
Please feel free to reach out to me at [address removed]. I'll also be at the North East Scala Symposium this week.
