Details

UPDATE: Due to possible snow this Saturday. Instead of Breakneck Ridge. We will hike the alternative route. Bring microspikes and headlamp. See map (yellow lines)

At times, Breakneck can be overwhelming on weekends. Use it in case if you need to find me 917-727-9893.

This is great hike for people who wants to get into hiking/backpacking and veterans as well. We will start hiking from Breakneck Ridge parking lot apox. 10:15AM. For people leaving from NYC, there is a Merto-North that will arrive at the station 10nish. I'm stoping for pint or two at the end of the hike. Therefore, people coming in vehicles, park at Breakneck Ridge parking if you intent not to join the pub later. End point of hike is .25 miles from Breakneck Ridge parking. If you wish to join me at drinks then park it at the Cold Spring Station and take the train to Breakneck Ridge (one station away). As always NO DRINKING AND DRIVING.

Bring lunch/snacks.. and 2L+ water. Wear your cloths according to weather that day and COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR with very good traction. The original hike is around 6 miles, but depending on condition of hikers I may or may not add 2 miles. This will happen if and only if all participants agree.

The Map (yellow line) is alternative route incase of if there are any ice sheet on the ridge.

Please read this blog about the proposed hike.
