Jamis Satellite Road Bike for Sale

Hi all:

I built a bamboo bike earlier this year, which means my (not really) old Jamis now needs a home with someone who will ride it more. Here's the ad I just posted on craigslist for it (click here for photos: Craigslist ad for Jamis Bike)

For sale:
2009 Jamis Satellite Road Bike, size 48-51 (a good fit for someone between 5'3"-5'6") Bought for $900, selling for $500 or best offer. Available for a test ride and pick-up in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Call Jonathan @ 323.422.4948

This is a great entry-level 27-speed road bike that I loved riding for 2 years. Can handle rides up to 75 miles very easily; I've done a century (100 mile) ride on it, too, without problems. Over two years, I put about 1000 miles on it.

In addition to the specifications below, I've made the following upgrades:

-- Installed interruptor brake levers on the handle bars, allowing for upright riding and horizontal braking
-- replaced tires, upgraded to Vittoria Rubino Pro (which have been used no more than 150 miles)
-- added toe clips (cages) to pedals
-- replaced brake pads about three months ago; have been used for about 150 miles
-- trued the wheels
-- replaced bar tape

I've kept the bike indoors, and in good condition. I recently trued the wheels and cleaned it; you'll find it ready to ride home.

Also up for sale (price to be negotiated) are lots of accessories including:

* saddle bag
* track pedals
* hand pump
* bar-end rear view mirrors

Here is Jamis' official description of the model:

* The Satellite frame features Size Specific Tubing (SST): smaller frames are constructed with smaller diameter tubing to retain resiliency and ride quality, while larger frames areconstructed using larger diameter tubing to retain stiffness for larger riders
* The Reynolds 520 double-butted chromoly frame rides smoother & more comfortably than comparably priced aluminum framed bikes thanks to the natural shock damping properties of steel.
* Satellite's frame geometry is a sloping top tube design. which is lighter than traditional steel frame design, but still retains the handling & comfort characteristics our stell frames are famous for
* Our full carbon fiber composite unicrown fork is significantly lighter than most 3-piece carbon forks usually found at this level with heavier chromoly or alloy steerers and alloy crowns
* Ritchey's BioMax handlebar features a shorter reach & shallower drop than other road bars. With Ritchey's unique flared back flats, these "Bio" fittings make for a supremely comfortable handlebar
* Low spoke count Alex wheels offer less aerodynamic drag than higher spoke count wheels and are lightweight for higher performance
* FSA's Vero triple crankset is forged for durability and offers the rider a wider, more comfortable gear range than standard-sized or compact-sized double chainring'ed cranksets
* Tektro's dual pivot brakes offer safe, secure braking from any hand position
* Shimano's Tiagra/Sora drivetrain assures light, precise shifting throughout the entire 27-speed gear range
