With humorous anecdotes from the pre-history of both projects, Andrew Clay Shafer (https://twitter.com/littleidea) will talk about today and tomorrow’s best practices for full-stack private cloud.

We'll talk hopes, dreams, and lessons learned. We'll talk about dev and we'll talk about ops, and what it all means in a cloud platform world. We'll start from the bottom of the stack and work up to the top. We'll go from history, to the state of the art with an eye on the future. You will laugh, you will cry, you will learn about stateful services in a 12 factor world. Andrew Clay Shafer is a Senior Director of Technology working in, on and around Cloud Foundry at Pivotal. Andrew was involved in many system automation projects since his time as co-founder of Puppet Labs and lead some of the earliest and largest deployments of OpenStack as the VP of Engineering at Cloudscaling. He knows where most the bodies are buried, but genuinely wants people to have nice things.
