Progressive F# Tutorials NYC - The 2-day Hands-On F# Conference

Purchase tickets via our event brite page:

Would you like to learn all about machine learning in F#? Or Numerical development in Excel and FCELL? Or spend 4 hours in a room with the great Tomas Petricek for a hands-on tutorial on calling and extending the F# compiler?  Wanna meet F#'s creator Don Syme and find out about his vision on F# in an open source world?

If the answer to some of these questions is yes, then check out this year's Progressive F# Tutorials, the 2-day hands-on F# conference in NYC on Sept 18-19th -

The conference will feature some of the world's top F# experts: in addition to Don Syme, F#’s creator and Tomas Petricek, you will also be able to learn and share skills with F# expert and math geek Rachel Reese, C(F)# MVP Chris Marinos and other experts (including Adam Mlocek, Phil Trelford, Miguel de Icaza, Dmitry Mozorov, Jack Pappas, Richard Minerich and Paulmichael Blasucci) in hands-on tutorials across the two days.. You can find the full program here:

Come along and learn about F# Koans, FCell, the compiler API, Code Quotations and more, meet others interested in maths and F# - and some fun too: at the end of the conference, we’ll be able to compete against your track-mates in a graph-based version of the classic Pac-Man game (and there will be plenty of beer, of course)!

• Don Syme - F# in the Open Source World

• Don Syme and Tomas Petricek - Calling and extending F# Compiler

• Phil Trelford and Rachel Reese - From zero to data science

• Tomas Petricek & Adam Mlocek - FCell: Numerics in Excel w/ F#

• Chris Marinos - The F# Koans: Learn F# Through Testing

• Miguel De Icaza - F# Beyond Windows

• Dmitry Mozorov & Jack Pappas - Quotations: Code-as-Data

• Phil Trelford - Machine Learning with F#

• Richard Minerich & Paulmichael Blasucci - will run the Graph Contest

The #progfsharp conference will be held in DUMBO, NYC on September 18-19th. DUMBO is easily reached by taking the F Train to York Street station, which will bring you very near to the conference. Tickets are just $500 if booked by September 10th and include 8 in-depth tutorials, plenty of time to learn and share experience and feedback on the ideas discussed at the conference, as well as breakfast, lunch and some drinks at the #progfsharp party. You can find more info about the conference and tickets here:

This was my first Skills Matter event, and I am sure it won't be my last. Wendy and her crew were splendid organizers and hosts. And of course the sessions were challenging and valuable, the presenters all great.

Sorry about the mix-up. The location is the DUMBO Loft, 160 Water Street -- in Brooklyn. The map on the meetup site has been corrected. Apologies for any confusion.

Where is this meeting located please? The map here shows Water Street in Manhattan, at the map shows Water Street on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge?

Very sorry for the confusion. I made a mistake when setting up the event. $10 is the default price on meetup and, not knowing that I had enabled the option to show price, didn't change it. We're not making any profit on this, space in NYC is expensive, but I can tell you that it's going to be well worth the $250 a day.
