RoR Night @ Gust HQ with Jose Valim - March 28th

Hey Everyone,

This event was just too awesome to not cross-post:

RoR Night @ Gust HQ

Concurrency has been a popular topic in the programming community in the latest decade and has received special attention in the Ruby community in the latest years. José Valim will start his talk by explaining why concurrency has become so important and why it is particularly hard to write safe concurrent software in Ruby, based on his experience from working on Ruby on Rails. He will finish this talk by discussing what Ruby can learn from other languages and the latest advances done by the Ruby community.

About Jose

José Valim ( @josevalim ) is a Rails Core Team Member, author of Crafting Rails Applications and co-founder of Plataformatec, a consultancy firm based in Brazil. He started working with Ruby in late 2006 and received a Ruby Hero award for his open source work on Devise, Simple Form and Rails itself. He enjoys traveling around, speaking at conferences and lately working on Elixir, a programming language for the Erlang VM.

Highly recommend checking it out! Hope you all are doing well,

Avi Flombaum
