December NYC Web Design Meetup

The NYC Web Design Meetup will meet Monday, December 13 at 7pm for:

• a Presentation
• one website design critique by a panel of designers
• open networking and socializing

Presentation: Playing the Game of Google

How do you get to the top of the search engine results pages?
How does Google discover new web pages ?
What is Google looking for when it tries to figure out if you belong at number 1 or on the bottom of page 30 somewhere?
What are the do's and don'ts of site structure?
What three pieces of html are the most important to the search engines?
How can you use Google to get on Oprah?

Doug Motel will answer these and other questions. Doug is founder of Site Optimized (https://www.siteoptimized.com/) an online marketing firm. Site Optimized has been helping large corporations and small businesses alike to profit from the web for more than 10 years. Doug teaches proven search engine optimization techniques that have helped his clients dramatically increase their visibility. Clients of Site Optimized have appeared on Oprah, CNN, and The View and in the Wall Street Journal, to name just a few media placements from search engine visibility and social media.

Design Review: A panel of 3 local web designers will review a recently redesigned website and provide web design critique. Afterwards, the site and panel will be opened up to the group for feedback.

Networking: As with past meetings, we'll split our time into about 90 minutes of presentations and discussion, and 30 minutes of open networking. Refreshments will be served, so please join us (and bring a friend to help our group grow!).
