Presentation: Typography for the Web

Webfonts, or custom typefaces used online, have infiltrated all levels of Web and mobile design. Many major brands, from the New York Times to Twitter, have traded in their Times New Roman and Verdana for typefaces from leading type foundries, such as Adobe, Monotype Imaging, and FontFont. Jaron Rubenstein of Rubenstein Technology Group (http://www.rubensteintech.com/) will present a comprehensive overview of webfonts, covering all of the details you'll need to make use of this new technology in your next Web or mobile project. Whether you're a designer or developer, this presentation is for you and will include: Designing and prototyping with webfonts, the technology behind the scenes, webfont and mobile font licensing, webfont foundries and distributors, HTML/CSS coding with webfonts, samples of webfonts in use, and common issues encountered when using webfonts and how they can be resolved.
