Alex Sicular will present a deeper dive into NoSQL in the cloud with a focus on RIAK as a follow-up to  last month's a walk down NoSQL lane.

Jim Farrell, of Joyent, will be discussing RIAK specific offerings. Jim will present "compute as a utility" with focus on the various models of delivery for Joyent's unique cloud technology and hot trending options including NoSQL and Node.js.

Speaker: Alexander Sicular
Having been in the medical informatics world for the last 10+ years, Alexander has a strong understanding of what it takes to run really important systems in an unforgiving environment. Medical Informatics is an interesting blend of science and business where both have to get along while encouraging clinical research and adhering to day to day administrative realities. Alexander has built a number of systems in use at Columbia University's Department of Neurology. His current focus is on exploring the benefits of non-traditional databases in this environment.

Speaker: Jim Farrell
Jim Farrell is a Business Director with Joyent, a leading visionary in the Cloud Computing market according to Gartner.     Jim has worked for various software, SaaS, and IaaS/PaaS organizations since leaving the Federal Government.   Over the last few years he has helped individual developers, StartUps, SMB and Enterprises to leverage cloud computing services.
