C++ and node.js

Abstract: Extending node.js with c++ modules is simple and can ease the development of web capable c++ applications. The developer can perform all the light checking and simple logic in flexible JavaScript and delegate to c++ for heavy lifting. Binding v8 (and node.js) to your c++ apps is also a great way to add web capabilities without learning complex c++ libraries. This meet up will focus on the basics of node.js and c++ modules. It will be a semi presentation/group discussion session. The goal being to introduce node.js to those who are not aware of it and show how and where one might be interested in extending it with c++. Great topic, was excited to see how similar it was to writing other managed language bridges like CLI/C#

    The presentation was very well-organized. It was important to see code examples to get a sense of the gotchas and work involved in dealing with C++/v8 bindings, and they were well-documented and easy to understand. It was clear that Roman spent a lot of time preparing for the presentation to make it easier for the audience.
