Abstract:

Shared libraries are a powerful tool for distributing and reusing code. There are many subtleties involved in writing a user-friendly library, including ABI versioning, symbol visibility, and distribution. In this talk, I will give an overview of why shared libraries are useful and how to write them.

This talk will be targeted to developers who have experience writing applications, but are unfamiliar with the process of writing a library.
