NYC Vegan EatUP Message Board › very new to this, but excited

very new to this, but excited

A former member
this has been a long time coming.
i have several veggie/vegan friends,
and i've talked to them at length about their diet and reasons for their choice.
i've gone with them to a few spots and eaten all vegan fare
and was very surprised how tasty it all is...

and then this past sunday (08/12)
after one too many nights out drinking that one
drink more than i should have (my tolerance has
been knocked down to 3/4 drinks as i've gotten older)
i felt not really godawful hungover just RUN DOWN.
so i decided i'm done with drinking. no more alcohol.
maybe wine or champagne at very special occasions
but otherwise there's no need. i've had just about
any mixed drink a bar can offer. i've sampled many
beers and wines. been there done that.

and then later in the day as i was looking at
my empty fridge and getting ready for another
order on freshdirect, it was a small, easy
extension of that logic (been there done that)
that i decided to flip the script and
get all vegan goods for my next order.

it's a few days into it and i'm feeling Fantastic.

after 27 years eating the same things and being
caught in a routine and too many days
feeling lethargic, it was just time for change.

this is one case where capitalism wins...
the demand is there, the products are there,
the pricing is affordable compared to a 'traditional' diet...

it was probably the easiest decision i've ever made.
