St. Patrick's Eve w/ Beware of the Pig & Lost Tribe of Donegal @ Paddy Reilly's
Details
T'was the night before St. Patrick's Day and all through the pub...ah, never mind. But before the madness truly begins, come on out to Paddy Reilly's on St. Patrick's Evehttp://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/6/0/2/event_99617922.jpeg for a very special night of Irish music.
In the featured late-night slot, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. is our own Sean Deane's band, "Beware of the Pig", all the way from Manchester, England. We were instrumental in getting them the gig so we hope you'll come out and support them and make them feel welcome in their US debut.
Beware of the Pig is the house band from the Brian Boru Club outside Manchester. An eight-piece band, they play a mix of Irish music, everything from trad arrangements to folk and drinking songs to U2 and Van Morrison covers. They're well known in Irish circles throughout the northwest of England and we think you'll really like their sound, so come check them out.
And that's not all. In the early slot from 8-10, Chris Byrne's new trad group, The Lost Tribe of Donegal, plays some sets. Byrne (pictured above) of course is the iconic uilleann piper and rapper from Black 47 and more recently Seanchai and the Unity Squad. He's joined by Seanchai bandmates Rachel Fitzgerald and Andrew Harkin (also ex-Black 47) in this new trad offshoot.
Meet starting around 8 at Paddy's, no pre-Meetup. $5 cover at the door, I think. And if you can't make it, Beware of the Pig returns to Paddy's on St. Patrick's Day from 5 to 10 p.m. Check them out, you'll be glad you did.
It's gonna be a great weekend, so come get the party started at Paddy's!
