Game-Changing Policies in Building Material Reuse

More than 13,500 tons of building materials are thrown out every day in New York City. These materials clog our landfills, release GHGs into the atmosphere, and create a need to manufacture more materials. Not only is reuse a logical and environmentally friendly alternative to discarding reusable materials, it also leads to green-collar jobs and more livable communities. Please join Justin Green of Build It Green!, a Queens-based building materials reuse center that also offers deconstruction services, and Joel Frank of Rebuilders Source, a Bronx-based building materials reuse center, in a discussion of the challenges and opportunities in the building material reuse and deconstruction fields. You’ll learn about the triple bottom line benefits of these activities, as well as the pro-reuse public policies in place in communities across the country that are helping to change the game.

Coffee will be provided; bring your own mug.
