Details
We have a great set of speakers for this month. I hope you can join us!
Speaker 1: Trey Stout, CTO at handwriting.io
Topic: Pitching Go to your CTO
"The main focus will be not only on Go, but on the the though process of tech leadership from the smallest startup to fortune 500 companies. For people who like Go they should find some ammunition for their own struggles with adoption elsewhere. Go also has some particular advantages that CTOs would eat up if they knew about them, but developers tend to focus on things that aren't important to leadership. This talk aims to help them in that battle."

Speaker 2: Tamir Duberstein., IC at CockroachDB
Topic: CockroachDB
CockroachDB is a scalable, resilient, transactional datastore. This talk will describe in some detail the guarantees provided by Cockroach, how they are achieved, and will include a short demo of the datastore in action. CockroachDB is open source, and is implemented in Go.
Tamir's bio: "I'm an IC at Cockroach Labs, working primarily on SQL support for CockroachDB. Cockroach is my first real exposure to Go; I think it's pretty neat."
Speaker 3: Prasanna Swaminathan, Director of Developer Relations at MediaMath
Topic: Scaling Data Ingestion Systems in Ad Tech, from Perl to Go
During Prasanna's tenure leading integrations at MediaMath, user data more than tripled in volume to more than 500k QPS. Prasanna discusses the ways they lowered latency, simplified concurrency, and increased capacity by switching to Go, and some of the patterns used to get the most from their gophers.
Prasanna's bio: In addition to teaching people how to pronounce his name, he builds tools to help developers find success working on MediaMath's ad tech platform. Previously, he led integrations, worked on ad ops and analytics tools, and worked on power relay firmware systems.
