Community Wi-Fi in the East Village

Details

This weeks meetup will be focussing on the East Village and the LES and how to get more people connected. There are quite few apartments in this area with mesh routers and we have public access points at DBA bar, Hell's Angels Block, Marble Cemetery, Clinton St and Union Square North Plaza. See all the locations on our map (https://nycmesh.net/map/).

If you are interested in learning more about our network, please drop by. No technical knowledge is needed and we are happy to answer any questions.

We have a FAQ (https://nycmesh.net/faq/) that helps to explain our network. If you are ready to buy and install a router you can fill in our form (https://nycmesh.net/join/).

We will have a few preconfigured routers available to purchase at the meeting. You can take them home plug them in, and be on the mesh. Please send us a message here to reserve one. $33 for the indoor router, $55 for the new dual-band indoor and $95 for the outdoor model. Bitcoin and paypal also accepted.

We had an interview published recently in Technical.ly (http://technical.ly/brooklyn/2015/08/11/brooklyn-mesh-networks-red-hook-initiative/).
