Mike Bayer is not only the author of SqlAlchemy, but an excellent speaker and teacher. This is not only a good SqlAlchemy class, but also a great intro to ORMs class, and comes highly recommended.

Many thanks go to Amanda Pickering and eBay for providing space, food and drink.

Based on the weather, those on the waiting list should show up. We'll have about a 75% attendance rate, and there will be room for you.

How will I know if I am upgraded from "waiting" to "reservation confirmed"? Do I have to show up at the location to actually know this?

How basic is this introduction going to be? Want to recommend this to a non-programmer so that he can learn more about how databases work.

The session is full, so your friend won't be able to attend. See JIm's link below for Mike Bayer's 2013 presentation.
