Curious about asynchronous programming? Interested in brushing up on the latest changes to asyncio? Just want to learn some cool stuff about Python? Then this is the event for you.

Speakers:

Brought to you by the letter H - Andy Dirnberger

Operating over large input sets is great, but what if you want to respond to individual datum as they are received? ETL scripts and cron jobs don't really help. Henson is a framework that leverages asyncio to react to data as it's received. With it, you can model data flows from simple pipelines to complex fanned out networks.

Andy Dirnberger is an engineer at iHeartRadio. He is the creator of Henson and a lover of all things Muppet.

Asynchronous Web Services with Python 3.5 - Matt Wright

With the release of pep-0492, Python 3.5 now has a nice new `async` and `await` coroutine syntax. Additionally, there is a growing community of open source libraries surrounding Python's native coroutine support. This talk will introduce you to the basics of writing async code with Python 3.5 by introducing you to `aiohttp`, an asynchronous HTTP client and server library.

Matt Wright is an engineer at ChatID in New York. He is the author of a few extensions for Flask and a contributor to a variety of open source projects.

A Python Async Framework With Coroutines: A Magic Show! - A. Jesse Jiryu Davis

Can we write an asyncio-style framework with coroutines in just 30 minutes? Let’s find out! You won’t just see a neat trick: You’ll gain fundamental knowledge about asynchronous networking, and learn how native coroutines work in Python 3.5.

A. Jesse Jiryu Davis is a staff engineer writing C and Python at MongoDB in New York City. He's the author of Motor, an async Python driver for MongoDB, and contributes to asyncio, Tornado, and CPython.
