Machine Learning; High Throughput & Eventual Consistency
Details
Al Barrentine from Jumo will do a 30 minute talk on Machine Learning. Al was scheduled for last month's meetup but fell ill, so he will be giving his talk this month. In his own words:
"I'd be happy to give a talk on machine learning in Python, particularly some of the nuts and bolts of integrating techniques like clustering and classification into a webapp. I think we all read about the various data mining libraries (pattern, scikit learn, nltk, datasciencetoolkit, pyml, pybrain, etc.) on Hacker News and get excited about them but I don't see a lot of these techniques used in industry, especially in the startup world. It would be titled something like "Machine Learning for Web Developers."
Kiril Savino from GameChanger.io will present on "Python, Mongo, Redis: High Throughput & Eventual Consistency" - more details on this talk coming soon.
GamerChanger will be hosting in their office and Turntable.fm will be providing pizza for the group.
