Many thank-yous to Jon Banafato and the crew at Fancy Hands, who
generously provided more than enough beer and pizza, and excellent
casual space for our office hours.
This event was really great, thanks to everyone who came out. It was
impressive to have people just hang out and eavesdrop, ask questions,
and learn, while others paired off and helped each other. The free-form
way it worked is exactly what I hoped for, and I want to thank all of
you for that.
I also wanted to mention, in response to some requests I have received,
that hiring managers and recruiters are not allowed to any of our events
unless explicitly invited.
But...if you're a hiring manager willing to hire very bright CS
undergrads whom are new Python developers and are more than capable of
learning, please shoot me an email with a job description. I met a few
new people with degrees whom I think will be excellent Python developers
in a relatively short time. I'll show them your job descriptions, and if
they're willing, they'll reach out to you, and you can interview them
from there.
Nights like this make so happy to be a part of this awesome community.
All of you rock.
Thanks again, and see you next Tuesday.
Gloria
