Intro to Neo4j / Powering Job Applications with Neo4J
Hosted by NY Graph Data Science and Analytics
Details
This Thursday, we'll be joined by Amanda Laucher of Neo4j and Tero Paananen of Jibe.com for an entry-level overview of Neo4j and a deep dive into its use at Jibe.com to power their enterprise-scale job applications solution.
Amanda (@pandamonial (https://twitter.com/pandamonial)), a Field Engineer at Neo4j, will be giving a brief introduction to graph databases and touch on some recent non-Java, non-social networking and non-big data client use cases for Neo4j. You'll learn how and why you want to start looking at graphs as a data storage abstraction for everyday applications.
In a revised and expanded version of the lightning talk he gave at GraphConnect NYC, Tero Paananen (@teropaananen (https://twitter.com/teropaananen)), Software Engineer and Director of Solution-Based Solutions at JIBE, will be discussing how Jibe.com came to use Neo4j and why it was chosen, as well as the challenges encountered in designing a graph-backed application and what he and his fellow engineers at Jibe learned in the course of building their white-labeled mobile job application tracker. (You can view his earlier lightning talk below.)
