Hacker Townhall: JUNE

The Hacker Townhall is back -- and we'd love it if you'd join us!

Free pizza, beer, and soda... plus a big, open room filled with talented engineers, designers, artists, and hackers.

We'll be sharing some updates of the organization as well as introducing Ben Beecher, the new maintainer of Petri - the open source project powering Hacker Union.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

REMINDER: absolutely no recruiters. This is a (strictly) builder-only event -- though students and newcomers are warmly welcomed.

Last night was a great time. Thx to the organizers. On another note. I forgot to announce at yesterday's meeting that my company http://makesimp.ly/ is looking for EE's, ME's and Product designers. We have great clients that want to make great products. Contact me via LinkedIn. My information is on our website. I cant wait for the next meeting.

So, if I want to start contributing to Petri, which repo should I fork? https://github.com/hackerunion/hackerunion.org.git or https://github.com/huffpostlabs/petri.git

Great evening. I'm only in NY for the week, so it was awesome to be able to meet up with some fellow hackers! Just a shame I turned up too late for the pizza.

Hi, I'm a recruiter, not a builder or engineer. Looking forward to coming tonight so I can recruit you all! I LOVE RECRUITING!

Serious question, though: Is there any bike storage available at the location? I'm healthy that way.

I'm looking for women or men techies who might want to give back and help get the next generation of young girls into STEM degrees and ultimately careers. I really think we are doing something that no one else is doing that can actually do some good over the long term!

Launching as a nonprofit this week, and I've formed a meetup group here:
    http://www.meetup.com/Lets-Get-More-Girls-in-Science-Tech-Nonprofit-Group/

Please check is out and share with your friends if you think we are worthy of it. Thanks!
