(2) Meetups for OCPHP (@ocphp) and (1) for OC DRUPAL in March. Say it ain't so ....

In our second OCPHP meetup for March but first of the month ....

Joe Cooper, founding member of Virtualmin Inc., will be providing a presentation and discussion on Virtualmin / Cloudmin / Webmin. A "big thanks" to Joe to stop on by while he is in town after SCALE.

The exact presentation / discussion will be dependant on those who RSVP for the event as you choose one of the 3 questions when RSVP'g.

Please note, besides the important location note below, this event will be on a Tuesday than the usual Weds. Anyone interested can head over to The Matador Cantina right below for some Taco Tuesday.

ABOUT Virtualmin

Virtualmin is a powerful and flexible web hosting control panel for Linux and UNIX systems based on the well-known Open Source web-based systems management GUI, Webmin. Manage your virtual domains, mailboxes, databases, applications, and the entire server, from one comprehensive and friendly interface.

ABOUT Cloudmin

Cloudmin is our new cloud computing control panel. Cloudmin provides a unified UI for building cloud services based on Linux Xen, Solaris Zones, Linux vservers, and Amazon AWS. Cloudmin also supports physical servers, allowing you to gradually migrate your websites into the cloud. Cloudmin, like Webmin and Virtualmin, is designed with flexibility in mind.

ABOUT Webmin

Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration for Unix. Using any modern web browser, you can setup user accounts, Apache, DNS, file sharing and much more. Webmin removes the need to manually edit Unix configuration files like /etc/passwd, and lets you manage a system from the console or remotely.

Coworking Fullerton is the ideal office for all people who have a business or work on a business but do not (always) have a regular office to go to. We try to be that home. Where you can walk in, feel at home, drink some coffee, bring your lunch and get work done! Its a productive environment for people that need to be productive now and then, but sometimes miss the watercooler to bump into some cool coworkers you can talk to and help each other out. Coworking Fullerton is a place where any (home based) business owner, or professional can feel at home.

We organize workshops and fun events to learn, network and build relationships.

One of our main events is the Jelly, which is a free casual coworking get-together every 2nd Wednesday of the month.

Still feel lonely at an executive suite where your working all on your own all day, come check out Coworking Fullerton. Our workshops and events are a great way to get to know people who work here.

Venue Location

Entrance in at the Brick Basement (enter from the parking lot in the back) next to The Matador Restaurant. Just after you enter, take the door to your right, then up the stairs, and keep straight to our office. Milton Security and The Aura Group are also on the same floor.

I used Webmin circa 2003 but haven't needed it in a long time. I thought Cloudmin / Virtualmin might be useful in my current work, but it seems as though they are more suited to operating a web-hosting business. I work for a company that runs large websites and we are using Chef to automate deployment of our infrastructure.

Really appreciate Joe Cooper making it out to present to our group while he was still in town after SCALE 9x. He gave a great overview and insight into their 3 platforms (@virtualmin, @cloudmin, and webmin).
