Lauren's topic:
Don't Panic! How to Embrace Emerging Social Media With Infinite Majesty And Calm
Most nonprofits are familiar with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, but what about fast-growing social media and messaging channels like Snapchat, Whisper, Tinder, and that sparkly new one that launched while you were reading this description? What about the ones you’ve ignored as mostly harmless, such as Pinterest, Instagram, and Reddit? How do you decide if these new (or just new-to-you) channels deserve to be part of your already crowded community engagement efforts? Can ephemeral and anonymous social sharing really play a role in helping nonprofit messages be heard? If your organization doesn't work with youth, are these channels even relevant? Don't panic! You'll learn the questions to ask before you engage on these channels and be inspired by the creative ways that organizations are already bravely experimenting with emerging social media.
See you then and don't forget to RSVP!
