First Tuesdays of the month are free museum days at many San Francisco museums. One of the most popular is the San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art which also has an outstanding photography collection. Lines can often be long to get in, depending on the exhibit, so plan to get there early. Although access to the general exhibits is free, there is usually still a mandatory timed ticket required for special exhibits, albeit at a reduced price.

Some of the current and upcoming exhibits:

David Claerbout: Architecture of Narrative, photography and video installation, May 21 - September 6, 2011

The Steins Collect - Matisse, Picasso and the Parisian Avant Garde, May 21 - September 6, 2011, Reduced admission: $7 (vs. $25)

Face of Our Time: Jim Goldberg, Daniel Schwartz, Zanele Muholi, Jacob Aue Sobol, Richard Misrach - photography exhibit, July 2 - October 16, 2011

Paul Klee - ongoing exhibit

Folks who RSVP can make separate arrangements to rendezvous. I will attend as my schedule allows.
