Deermound Off Leash Park

This picture was taken at Deermound August 6, 2012.

Our next walk will be at Deermound Off Leash park (weather permitting) which is in the County of Strathcona, located just East of Edmonton on Saturday, June 30th @ 2:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Why? Because you know your dog(s) want it! This is a lovely park with lots of trees and paths to walk the dogs off leash.

The Highway 21 Regional Park is a multi-purpose park serving residents across the County. Located on Highway 21 and Highway 628, the park is Strathcona County's only dog off-leash site.

From Wye Road (which is Sherwood Park Freeway), drive 3 km south on Highway 21, turn west at Junction 628 at the traffic lights onto Township Road 522 and watch for off-leash area signs (only a few hundred meters along TR 522). The parking lot is on the south side of TR 522.
From Whitemud Freeway (which becomes Township Road 522), continue east past the Highway 14 intersection until just before reaching Highway 21. Turn south into the off-leash parking lot. If you reach Hwy 21 you've gone too far, turn around and you will see the signs.

(Don't look at the google map as it is never correct, just follow my instructions.)

I'll be set up at the picnic table South of the parking lot. I will have my cell phone on, just for the walk in case you are going to be late or get lost [masked]).

Looking forward to seeing you and your pooches on Sunday, June 30th @ 2:00 p.m. to walk the walk, talk the talk and bark the bark.

A little muddy on the paths, so we stuck more to the open areas. The dogs loved the mud baths, probably the owners not so much. Congrats to Monique a first timer who won the prize!

We are really excited about our first walk with everyone. Looking forward to meeting new dogs and new friends. Our dog Dixie gets really excited and is very vocal. Hopefully there will be some other dogs that will want to play chase as that is her favourite game. See you on Sunday!

I went on my own today since it is my regular dog park, and it was REALLY muddy on the forest trail. It would require rubber boots. But the field trail is nice, just a little short. It's nice a roomy for the dogs to play, though. Let's hope we get a little less rain between now and next weekend.

I don't know why I was thinking that this was today, the 23rd. I must remember to check the dates more carefully. :) I noticed it is the 30th when I came to rsvp

Be sure to bring bug spray and footwear that can get a bit muddy.
