East Cobb Sustainable Community Meeting

Hi Everyone,
JOJO gave me permission to email all of you through "Atlanta Beyond Oil" to invite you to another meetup group that I've started called, "East Cobb Sustainable Community."
The focus of this group is similar to Atlanta Beyond Oil because the focus is on sustainable living.
This forum explores possible solutions in the event of an economic crash, a natural disaster, a major epidemic, or any other circumstance that forces us to use our own resources to thrive.
I recently taught a class in New Orleans where the participants shared that they have been 'forever changed' since Katrina about preparedness for disasters. They all have 'hurricane' storage now and everyone is in a position of 'preparedness' now.
Folks in Louisiana may be better positioned than many others across the USA because they already went through 'the drill' and are prepared for 'the next one'...
The focus of our group will be on different topics each month such as gardening, canning, harvesting/collecting/storing water, power backup options, community sharing of common goods, food/first aid storage, financial backup, wilderness foraging, and any other topics relating to thriving and basic comfortable living in the event of a challenge.
This is a very positive, solution-based meetup that focuses less on doom-and-gloom and more on the excitement of 'planning for a rainy day.'

The group is set up like JOJO's in that it is potluck (bring a dish to share and favorite beverage), begins at 7pm with networking and appetizers, 8pm is dinner, 9pm presentation ending around 10pm.
My husband Tom and I (along with our 3 dogs) are hosting this at our house in East Cobb. We are about 10 minutes drive from the I75/285 interchange just north of the perimeter.
Our meetup link is below. Please click it and add yourself to the attendance.
We would LOVE to have you!
