Being a lap dog, a lot of stress can be eliminated while petting one, the warmth (especially in winter) is a big plus, who doesn't want a companion?
We adopted our first from Town & Country Humane Society several years ago and now find ourselves on our third Pug. Being Dutch (myself) they have a special meaning as it was the Dutch traders who introduced Pugs to Europe from China.
Linda, we adopted her in December, 2006, she is six years old.
We are a family of seven (not counting Guinea Pigs, Birds or Fish), Mom, Dad and Daughter are three, the four others go by Lollipop, Angel, Rosie and Linda, two Shih Tzu's, a Corgi and a Pug.
The participants are as friendly as their dogs, the willingness to share makes the evening all the more enjoyable.
