Welcome to the Meetup portal for NYC based Open Tai Chi. We invite you to meet and practice friendly Tai Chi Chuan. We have courses in Tai Chi Form, Qigong Fusion, Push Hands (Tui Shou), Noten Meditation and I-Ching (Book of Changes). We also offer periodic workshops and related programs as may be calendared.

We strive to cultivate a friendly and fun atmosphere, and a few events are conducted in an informal setting. All are welcome, from absolute beginners to any mind-body / martial arts people.

Regular classes are facilitated and led by our long time practitioner and teacher, Inoshi. On occasion experienced practitioners may assist beginners in these arts as well. Dress comfortably in clothes which you can move freely in. Street clothes are fine (changing areas available). Please see specific class descriptions for more detail, especially on footwear.

Our foundation is Yang Family / Style Tai Chi, yet includes practice from other families. We meet weekly with the exception of a possible Summer break, a Winter break and few major holidays.  Tai Chi oft appears rendered Taiji.
