Open source'rs!

It's been far too long since we gathered to discuss happenings in Toronto's open source community. Let's kick things off again with two presentations, some drinks and friendly chatter. Arrive early, because the first round of pitchers and appetizers are on us!

Talk 1:

How Hubot (http://hubot.github.com/) Discovered the World was Flat: Using open communication tools and methodologies to combat organizational hierarchy.

This presentation comes to us from Patrick Connolly (http://twitter.com/patconnolly), who works in the area of process automation. He's particularly interested in how agile principles and open source thinking can transfer into non-technical communities and systems of governance.

Talk 2:

Introduction to DocPad (http://docpad.org/): A next generation web architecture allowing for content management via the file system, rendering via plugins, and static site generation for deployment anywhere.

This talk will be presented by Rob Loach (https://twitter.com/robloach). Leveraging Agile and Scrum methodologies, he empowers others to use, love and contribute to open source projects like Drupal, Symfony and DocPad.

Hope to see you there!
