The Austin Open Source August Meetup

  • August 21, 2008 · 8:00 PM

Is the argument that Microsoft is still influencing innovations in the Open Source arena valid? Is it true that every thing open source developers do is aimed at countering Microsoft's products like Exchange, Office, Windows Server family, Windows XP and Vista, SQL, SharePoint, etc.? I believe Open Source developers have a much broader view of where technology is heading. What are your thoughts?
Let's discuss. See you on Thursday.

My apology. I did not make it. I have been using my new motorcycle to make these runs to meetings and the rain kept me away. Do you have info on what was discussed? Summary? I hope to have a rain suit soon so that I do not let these things slow me down in the future.

    Cheers
